| Here is an interactive parenting program
that has received high marks at the Michigan Elementary and Middle
School Principals Association 2005 State Conference. Richard mixes
his humorous lecturing style with quick, group-energizing activities
that are cleverly designed to develop strategies that can be implemented
both at school and a home.
“He kept everyone
involved so we could use one another as resources in addition
to the tips and suggestions he shared during his session.”
Linda Pearl, MEMSA, Room Chair
Richard continues to study and research bullying and
school violence. He is currently working toward professional certification
and striving to become an expert in this field. The program will
explain what a bully and a victim are and the myths behind the labels.
Most importantly it offers up solutions and resolutions to this
crisis that has tarnished schools and created fearful students for
decades.
Parents will learn:
- How to locate
the best source of information as to what is really going on in
the school
- The seriousness
of bullying and how it can scar a person for a lifetime
- Develop
a plan of action for parents, staff and students
- How to create
a No Bully Club in their school
- How to implement
a student watch program
Bully-Proofing Skills and Strategies
They will be given tips on instituting a parent/student
team. This will help reduce emotional strain and self-empower students
by promoting non-violent ways of resolving a conflict.
